Mike Libecki, Keynote

Mike Libecki can define his life in two ways: An obsession with exploring and climbing the worlds most remote and untouched corners of the planet to find huge, world class first ascents and exploration…and a being a dedicated father to a daughter that wants to save the world. Libecki has completed more than 85 major expeditions all over the planet with a goal of 100 expeditions. He has done expeditions from Afghanistan to Antarctica, to Greenland to Guyana, to Siberia to Socotra Island, Yemen and everywhere in between. Mike is also a producer, director, videographer, photographer, humanitarian and conservationist. He is also a math and tech nerd at heart, and uses the latest technologies on his expeditions to share the stories. Kevin Ames

Kevin Ames is among the first generation of ENG photographers in television. His video career started the same day the station he was working for tore out their film processor. He has worked in local news, commercial production, scripting advertisements as well as being the voice of a CBS affiliate. His career moved into still photography. He has had a decades long career in studio photography both with film and as a very early adopter of digital capture. He revisited his love of video with the Canon 5D Mk II. He’s been providing still and video photography to his clients ever since.

Serge Ramelli

Serge Ramelli is a French photographer living in the US. He specialized in Cityscape’s photography. His work is in over 85 galleries around the world with the Yellow Korner Network. He also has published 7 coffee table books on Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Venice and Barcelona.

Matt is a guy that hates bios written in the third person. He…no wait … I… love teaching and photography 🙂 In that order. I feel that enjoying photography, and photo editing can get WAY too complicated. So my personal mission (and favorite thing to do), is to create education that simplifies the process of taking great photos, and how to edit them to get the results you’ve always wanted. Corey Baker

Frederick Van Johnson

Frederick Van Johnson is a photographer and marketing professional with over 20 years of experience working with many of the Fortune 500 companies that dominate the photography industry. A former United States Air Force Combat Photojournalist, today he is the Editor-in-Chief of the This Week in Photo (TWiP) podcast network, and former Chairman of the board for Brooks Institute. Frederick’s USAF unit was among the first in the US military to receive, and put into daily action, digital imaging technology and software. As a result, he was awarded the prestigious Air Force Commendation medal for his key role in facilitating the US Air Force transition from film-based imaging to digital. He is the “This Week in Photo” (aka TWiP) podcast and general manager of all related properties — TWiP remains one of the most popular photography media properties. Frederick left the military to study visual communication at the University of California, and Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California — where he ultimately became Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

While at Apple, he was key in the development of iPhoto, Apple’s revolutionary photo management application. He went on to Adobe Systems, where he helped manage marketing for Lightroom and Photoshop.

Today Frederick lives in northern California, and continues to travel, podcast and practice photography whenever possible. He has also been spotted making aerial photographs with his drone.

Drew Geraci

Andrew ‘Drew’ Geraci is a passionate and award-winning photographer/cinematographer who has been in the media industry for over 17 years. As a budding photographer, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a Mass Communication specialist. During his time in the Navy, he was deployed to aircraft carriers, exotic overseas locations, and traveled the globe documenting military activities. After nearly a decade of service, he hung up his uniform and signed on as a Senior Multimedia Producer for the Washington Times in Washington, DC. His role as a visual storyteller and leader would eventually lead him to create his own business which he currently operates and owns – District 7 Media.

Drew has an affinity for creating brilliantly colored and high-impact HDR motion time-lapse productions as well as directing for feature films and commercials. Piet Van den Eynde

Piet (pronounced as ‘Pete’) Van den Eynde is a Belgian freelance photographer, author and trainer, specializing in travel portraiture. He likes to work with flash to create striking environmental portraits in remote locations, whether it’s the Mongolian Altai mountains or the Omo river valley in Southern Ethiopia. Piet is also an Adobe Lightroom Certified Expert and a Fujifilm Ambassador. When he’s not traveling, he’s writing books and creating tutorials about photography, lighting and image editing. Luisa Winters

Luisa Winters is an Adobe Premiere Master Instructor, an Adobe Certified Instructor, and an Apple Certified Trainer. She is an accomplished videographer, editor, 3D animator, and graphics designer. Nick Harauz

Nick Harauz, is the Director of Product Marketing, Continuum at Boris FX. He has over fifteen years of experience as an Adobe, Avid, and FCP certified trainer.

Harauz is regarded within the post-production community for his deep knowledge of host applications mixed with a relatability that keeps students engaged. Douglas Spotted Eagle

Douglas was a co-founder of Sundance Media Group (SMG) in 1996, a training and consulting organization with over 28 years of experience.  Douglas is a world-traveled speaker/instructor and a giant in the video and audio industries, having received many awards. Douglas is the author of several books and DVDs and continues to serve as an adviser and guide for videographers, software manufacturers and broadcasters, however Douglas now focuses his energy and experience within the UAV/sUAS (drone) industry. 

Douglas has a long history in Aviation, with 3500 hours of flight time, over 6,000 skydives, and having completed numerous aerial cinematography projects.  Douglas has written several curricula for skydiving training that is in use across the globe. Vanelli

Vanelli is an educator, author, and a working sports and portrait photographer based on the east coast of Florida. His specialized photography programs have been taught on LinkedIn Learning, Lynda.com, in workshops, lectures and in the Brevard County School District.

As an Adobe Master Trainer, Avid Certified Instructor, EDIUS Master Trainer, and the author of multiple books and over 2,000 tutorials, he is well-known as an International Trainer and Public Speaker.

In addition to consulting for Adobe on the development of learning content, Maxim is the author of the official Adobe Premiere Pro Classroom in a Book, and has spoken at many colleges and universities on the development of creative skills.  He is well-known as an international media technology trainer, and is the author of multiple books and training series on the subject. As a filmmaker, he has directed over thirty short films, the feature-length documentary ‘Trust Me: Working with Richard Foreman’, and the forthcoming supernatural-thriller feature film ‘It’s Haunted’. A regular speaker at film festivals and conferences around the world, Maxim mentors newcomers to the film industry and may drink too much coffee.

Seth C. Polansky

Seth C. Polansky, a contracts, intellectual property, and start-up specialist, founded the professional firm Seth Polansky LLC in 2005. Through both this firm and his corporate experience, he has enjoyed a diverse and rewarding practice. In addition to working with private corporations, government and state agencies, he has counselled small businesses and artists in securing copyright, trademark and other intellectual property protection, and aided them in navigating contracts. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Contract and Procurement Law at the University of Maryland University College.

Doug Daulton

Doug is a writer/producer based in Spokane with over twenty years of experience working with a wide variety of storytelling platforms, including feature films, podcasts, and multi-camera live streams. His portfolio includes projects for Google, YouTube and Salesforce. His work as a storyteller has taken Doug around the world, covering subjects at the highest levels of industry, entertainment and government.

Bokeh, his first feature film, was selected for IFP’s Independent Film Lab, acquired by Screen Media Films, screened at the 2017 Santa Barbara Film Festival and enjoyed a theatrical run in the spring of 2017. It is now available on all major VOD platforms. Currently, Doug is developing several projects including a transmedia documentary about the adventures and sacrifices of a once top-secret cadre of American fighter pilots.
